1. From the desktop, double click on the My Computer icon.



2. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking folder.



3. Double click on the Make New Connection icon.



4. Type Valkyrie Internet Service as shown, then click on Next.



5. Enter the Area code and Telephone number as shown. Click on Next.
Note: Verify that the phone number you’re using is local for you.

6. Click on Finish.

Note: You’ll notice a new icon named Valkyrie Internet Service has been created
in your Dial-Up Connections window.



7. Right click on your Valkyrie Internet Service icon and choose Properties as shown.

 


8. You should be looking the the following screen below.
Continue by clicking on the Server Types tab.



9. Un-check Log on to network under Advanced options.
10. Un-check NetBEUI and IPX/SPX Compatible under Allowed network protocols.
Note: Your Server Types tab should now look like the example below.
11. Click the TCP/IP Settings button to continue.

 

 

12. Choose the Server assigned IP address radio button.
13. Choose the Server assigned name server addresses radio button.
14. Checkmark Use IP header compression.
15. Checkmark Use default gateway on remote network.
16. Click OK which will return you to your Server Types tab to continue.

 

 

17. Click on the Scripting tab.
18. Verify that the File name field is blank.
19. Verify that Start terminal screen minimized box is checkmarked.
20. Click OK to return to your Valkyrie Internet Service Icon.

 

 

21. Double click on the Valkyrie Internet Service icon in the Dial-Up networking window.
The following screen should appear. Click on the Dial Properties button.



22. Verify that the correct area code is located in the Area code box. If not, correct it now.
23. Click on the Area Code Rules button as shown below.

Note: If you wish to disable call waiting, put a checkmark in the To disable call waiting, dial: box
and choose *70, in the box to the right. You must have call waiting active through your phone
company before this feature will work properly.



24. Put a checkmark in the box which says Always dial the area code (10-digit dialing).
Click OK.

Note: You should now be on the My Locations tab on your Dialing Properties screen.

25. Click on the Apply button, then the OK button which will take you back to the Connect To screen.
(Verify that the area code and phone number are correct. If not, go back to Step 7.)

26. Enter your account name (User-name) and your password for our service. The dialer is complete
at this point. Close all the open windows. DO NOT click on the Cancel button.

Note: The first time you dial into Valkyrie Internet Service please verify that your User name and password
are correct. Remember that no spaces are allowed and all letters should be in lower-case.
