INTRODUCTION
Mac OS7.x can use a variety of connection software to allow you to connect to
the Internet.
There are two elements which must be installed on your Macintosh system to begin.
They are (1) Networking Software and (2) Connection Dialer Software.
You must have at least
one of each to be able to connect to the Internet.
(1) Networking Software: Your Networking software will usually will be
comprised of either
Open Transport TCP/IP or MacTCP. You can find out what software
you have by clicking on
the Apple Icon and select Control Panel.
(2) Connection Dialer Software: Your Dialer software will usually be
comprised of either FreePPP,
ConfigPPP/MacPPP, or PPP/Remote Access. You can find out what
software you have by
clicking on the Apple Icon and select Control Panel.
Once you have determined
the connection software you have on your system, click on the appropriate
section below for setup instructions:
Section One: Open
Transport TCP/IP
Section Two: MacTCP
Section Three: FreePPP
Section Four: ConfigPPP/MacPPP
Section Five: PPP/Remote Access
